This jubal set consists of a rice bowl and soup bowl formed in buncheong ware, a ceramic tradition that emerged in early Joseon following the refinement of Goryeo celadon. Buncheong was not created for courts alone, but for lived spaces—kitchens, tables, and the steady rhythm of everyday nourishment.

Although buncheong is often associated with spontaneity and bold surface treatment, this set adopts the inlaid crane and chrysanthemum motif, a technique inherited from Goryeo celadon. Fine lines of pale clay are carefully embedded into the darker body, forming cranes in gentle motion among densely layered chrysanthemum blossoms.

In Korean visual culture, the crane signifies longevity and moral clarity, while the chrysanthemum represents endurance and quiet integrity through changing seasons. Their presence here is not emblematic or declarative, but woven continuously around the vessel, encircling the bowl as a calm, repeating rhythm.

The form remains grounded and functional. The rounded walls retain warmth, the foot sits low and stable, and the proportions feel settled rather than elevated. These are bowls made to be lifted daily, not displayed apart from use.

In this way, the set stands at a point of transition—between the refinement of Goryeo techniques and the grounded practicality of Joseon life—allowing ornament and restraint to coexist without tension.

  • EMS estimated shipping time is 7-14 days, depending on your region. Please note that Air Mail shipping method may not be available for all countries.
  • Express Courier estimated shipping time is 5-10 days.

  • EMS (Express Mail Service): 7-14 days, recommended for faster delivery (costs $20-50 USD depending on location).
  • Air Mail: Used if K-Packet isn’t available or for heavier items (similar times to K-Packet). 10-21 days.
  • Express Shipping: Available upon request for urgent orders (e.g., DHL or FedEx, UPS 3-7 days, higher cost).
