It is the work of Master Artisan Kwon Oh-Hak, a nationally certified ceramic master from Icheon, known for his continual innovation rooted in tradition.

Kwon’s pieces are distinguished by emotional warmth and technical finesse—here, he revives a humble form with poetic intention. The glossy surface shimmers softly under the light, lending a quiet elegance that contrasts beautifully with the earthy body of Buncheong stoneware. Rather than absorbing the light like a matte glaze, it reflects it subtly—recalling early-morning dew on tiled rooftops.

Each rest echoes the silhouette of a tiled eave from a traditional Korean house, sculpted to cradle chopsticks, spoons, or forks with ease and balance. On either end, the inlaid motifs—a crane and drifting cloud—are rendered in the classic sanggam (inlay) technique using white slip, their delicate outlines a symbol of longevity, serenity, and ascension.
