Najeonchilgi is Korea’s traditional mother-of-pearl lacquerware, recognized as a national cultural asset. Artisans layer natural lacquer over wood, then inlay hand-cut abalone and pearl oyster shell — a process requiring dozens of steps and exceptional skill.
